Mosaic charitable foundation is dedicated to empowering disadvantaged children, fostering educational excellence, and preserving our natural world. We have been supporting education in South Africa and Kenya through practical, skills-focused training. Our sessions concentrate on core areas like classroom management, facilitating effective group work, and fostering reflective learning practices. To date, our flagship program has impacted over 40 Kenyan and 300 South African teachers, teaching assistants, and student teachers.

Working with
deaf teachers
Following a successful pilot in Johannesburg (October 2025), which involved deaf educators in adapting our standard curriculum, Mosaic Foundation is offering a two-day intensive teacher training course. The pilot, attended by 28 participants across 12 hours of instruction, yielded positive feedback and confirmed the value of tailoring content specifically for deaf educators and hearing teachers working with deaf learners.
Based on these outcomes, we are repeating and refining this adapted format for a workshop in Chika in August 2026. This two-day session forms part of a broader foundation training course, modified to address the needs of hearing-impaired learners. The curriculum will focus on group work and group communication strategies. Participants will engage in lesson analysis tasks using subtitled video recordings of hearing teachers instructing hearing learners. Additionally, the workshop will introduce clear, standardized protocols for various lesson types to support effective and consistent classroom practice.
Approach

We provide a practical, interactive learning environment that focuses on developing essential teaching techniques. Teachers of all subjects are welcome to join the program. We’ll focus on general pedagogy and instructional design, exploring materials from ECD to middle- and high-school classrooms.

Mosaic teacher training program in detail
Mosaic teacher training program is a course targeting school teachers and assisstants who would like to learn more about education. The course can host 40 participants only.
  • Our mission
    The goal of the Mosaic teacher training program is to provide participants with systematic knowledge of teaching methodology, practise basic skills, share ideas with colleagues, and increase interest in pedagogy in general within five days. Our aim is to promote successful teaching practices among teachers.
  • Costs and expenses
    The course is free for participants. All tuition expenses are covered by Mosaic foundation.
  • Schedule
    The course lasts 2 days. We'll have three 90-minute sessions per day with 2 coffee-breaks to unwind and socialize.
  • Commitment
    We are looking for applicants who can commit to the program. This means we expect participants to attend all sessions.
